Making the most of what's already here

haku began as the renovation of a building nearly 50 years old.
We kept the original structure largely as it was.
In the interior, too, we use furniture that came with the old Kashiwamura Ryokan, along with vintage pieces from Japan and abroad.
We want to keep caring for the things that have been here all along, and to keep using them.

Room plates made from reclaimed wood from the old Kashiwamura Ryokan, each one carefully crafted by a Shiraoi-based artist.

Carved wooden bears, long tucked away in Shiraoi homes, can be found all around haku.

Caring for what we have, and using it for years to come.

Our reception counter, made from reclaimed wood.
